Divorce by consent or uncontested divorce is more convenient, faster, and time-saving method of divorce than contested divorce. Spouses can agree to divorce by themselves without any disputes. This type of divorce is required by law to make the divorce agreement in writing and signed by at least 2 witnesses. In case you registered a marriage at district office or district in province where you reside, you can proceed with the registration of divorce to the registrar at any district or district office, and the divorce proceedings by this method can only be done by spouse. No attorney or person can be authorized to act on their behalf. When a divorce is registered, such divorce will therefore be legally valid.

Currently, divorce registrations at district offices often is required to book the queue or register in advance due to the large number of persons come to register the divorce.   1. 1.1 Divorce agreement signed by at least 2 witnesses. In case the spouse is a foreign, the divorce agreement shall be made in Thai and English/national languages of the spouse as translation
  2. 1.2 Thai ID card/Passport with English translation certified by Thai consular in case of the spouse is a foreigner
  3. 1.3 Marriage certificates
  4. 1.4 Individual witnesses 2 persons (witness fee will be charged at 2.50 baht in case the witness provided by the registrar)
  5. 1.5 Fees are exempted except for witnesses provided by the registrar 2.50 baht
  6. 1.6 Interpreter, in case of one of the spouses is a foreigner
